Brief:
Newtec needed more processing power to sort potatoes by means of vision control.
Solution:
Prevas developed a new computer board based on a transmeta 800 MHz PC/LINUX compatible processor along with 4 Tiger Shark DSP processors. As stacked boards, with 28 powerful processors working together, the system is one of the most powerful systems for vision control in the world.
Benefit:
Using the new platform, Newtec machines are capable of sorting more than 130,000 potatoes per hour in many qualities.
