For many years Prevas has developed, supplied and supported traceability systems on a national and international level for the world's leading companies. Traceability is one of the most important keys to effective and faultless production. As a means of helping our customers, Prevas is continuing its investments in this field and opening a Center of Excellence for traceability. Traceability is all about knowledge of a product´s components and being able to provide information on how and when they were manufactured. The requirements and demands for traceability are increasing within several fields. "Industry know-how combined with various specific competencies such as automation, labeling, data collection and validation is essential in terms of a successful traceability system. Prevas' extensive experience in producing cost-efficient traceability solutions is based on over 25 years of experience and forms the basis for the new Center of Excellence," says Matz Axelsson, Business Unit Manager at Prevas. The incentive for introducing traceability varies among different industries; it might be a matter of eliminating health risks, obstructing pirate copying or reducing environmental impact. Some industries such as the food and pharmaceutical industries must have traceability to satisfy regulatory requirements, while others have traceability as a means to help them achieve maximum customer satisfaction and faultless production. Examples include the automotive and electronics industries. Regulatory requirements for traceability are also increasing in other industries such as explosive products manufacturing. "To help our customers compete in a global market, we have built up a number of Centers of Excellence, where we plan to take a leading role on a global basis. We offer specialist project teams there with specific domain expertise and technical platforms for profitable, turnkey solutions," says Christer Ramebäck, Business Area Manager at Prevas.
