Thumb-grip ECG saves lives

A disturbance in heart rhythm is usually noted when the heart beats harder or more irregularly than usual. ECG measurements can be used to diagnose certain types of heart problems, such as atrial fibrillation and various kinds of brief or sustained attacks. Together with Prevas, Zenicor Medical Systems has developed a product unlike any other in the world that can easily diagnose heart rhythm disturbances.

Quality and traceability are critical factors when the Norwegian company, Ragasco, manufactures composite LPG cylinders for consumers and the automotive industry. Manufacturing occurs 24/7, which means that production stops and cylinders that fail quality inspections can be very costly. Prevas' data collection system carefully monitors all product parameters.

Award-winning communication system for smoke diving teams

There is typically already thick smoke emerging from a building when smoke divers prepare to enter. The equipment that they use is incredibly important, since they work in an environment where visibility may only be one to two meters. Interspiro and Prevas collaborated on the design of an advanced communication system for smoke diving teams. The system consists of portable electronic units that are located on each fireman's headgear. The technical solution won two awards: the Swedish Embedded Award and the Swedish mobile award, Guldmobilen, for innovation of the year.

Efficient, quality-assured production

Stringent demands on security, traceability and quality made it a delicate task to modernize Westinghouse Electric Sweden's entire manufacturing and support system. The company supplies Swedish and international nuclear power industries with fuel, spare parts and service. Prevas was involved in the project. The challenge was tackled using leading edge expertise and Wonderware software to design a Manufacturing Execution System, MES, which is the "layer" between the business information system and manufacturing.

New technology icon: the interactive playground

Kompan and Prevas have combined many years of experience and knowledge on play using computer technology. The result has been named Icon. The playground is a clear example of how certain aspects of everyday life have become high tech for many people. The interactive playground can be compared to Nintendo Wii where the screen has been replaced by the playground. Children hunt for a sound or a color in competition with each other, a competition against the product. The challenge is based on time, strategy and performance, which at the same time strengthens motor skills and other skills.
