Prevas has been contracted to implement CAN (1) functionality (Controller Area Network) into the control electronics of ABB´s Torductor®-S, torque measuring system.
Many of ABB´s products contribute to a better global environment, and the Torductor®-S is no exception. The product is currently being used on the Formula One racing car circuit to measure engine and gearbox torque in real time. By measuring this parameter it become possible to fine-tune engine settings, change gears more efficiently, and measure gearbox wear. It also reduces the harmful environmental impact and increases the lifetime of engine and gearbox.
