Linde Werdelin has developed a new concept - an exclusive analog sports wristwatch that attaches to a digital instrument with altimeter, thermometer, heart rate monitor, compass and logbook.
Assignment description
Design of a very low power unit the size of a wristwatch, with 128 × 128 graphic display and wireless connection to external sensors and PC via a USB adapter.
M2M solution
Prevas built the integrated hardware and software around a Texas CPU TL430 processor platform and a 2.4 GHz two-way radio circuit. The radio protocol was written specially for this application, primarily to minimize power consumption of the instrument and its external sensors.
Result and effect of the M2M solution
By outsourcing the project to Prevas, Linde Werdelin was able to launch the new concept in the market without having to set up its own electronics development department. Prevas created an adapted solution with specific focus on very low power consumption and small dimensions.
