A Long-term Cooperation for Better Treatment for Asthma Patients

Along with Prevas Aerocrine has developed two innovations that have improved the care of asthma patients - NIOX ® and NIOX MINO ®.

Assignment: System and Project delivery, outsourced development department.

Aerocrine is a world leading company in the field of monitoring airway inflammation. 

The challenge presented to Prevas was to create a small easy to use hand held device producing accurate and reproducible results in line with the much more technically complex NIOX®.

Prevas used its full spectrum of engineering talents to develop a new innovative concept that permitted the miniaturization of the device as well as the reduction in manufacturing cost. The result was NIOX MINO®. The project was delivered as an out-sourced development department.

NIOX MINO® is the first and only hand held NO analyzer on the market. Several patents was generated during the project. In 2005, NIOX MINO® was awarded with the Medical Design Excellence award (MDEA).
