Testing is a very important process for any business. When a product is put on the market, it has to be thoroughly tested and of the highest quality. To reduce costs and reduce the time it takes to develop a good test system, Prevas has developed a set of standard software frameworks that can simplify the process considerably.
PreCAST
PreCAST is a developed software framework at Prevas, which will decrease the customers time-to-market significantly.
The PreCAST software framework is built on the NI LabVIEW platform, this enables a modular design consisting of key elements common to all test and measurement applications. It also includes the following.
- Object-Oriented and Actor-based programming
- Existing Hardware Abstraction Layer concept
- Modular, configuration-based design
- Dynamic and customizable User Interface
- Efficient data capture, handling and storing
With years of experience in test system implementation and measurement solutions, Prevas solves complex challenges with high precision, in a dynamic and efficient way. To be able to ensure the customer a better time-to-market, Prevas continuously improves the products used to create test systems. Together with the customers specification and the PreCAST software framework, Prevas can tailor and customize a dynamic test system with ease. PreCAST also makes it easy to combine National Instruments Hardware with other hardware.
Modular design
The PreCAST software framework enables modularity and places the customer in charge of what functionality should be included in their version. PreCAST includes modules like Access Privilege, Configuration Manager, Test Execution, Hardware Abstraction Layer and Error Handler.
Customizable user interfaces
PreCAST enables the customer to configure and manage different types of hardware. The User Interface can be edited by the user, depending on what appearance the measurements should have, they can be displayed for example as a mix of numbers, graphs and charts.
